On April 26th, the labor union team of the Chemistry Department, the labor union team of the experimental center, and the administrative union team organized all the staff to visit the Bianhedi Village near the 18th Street of Kaifeng to help farmers to extract garlic sprouts, carrying out the loving care activities of "Helping People with Bolting and Solving Social Problems".

Farmers enthusiastically entertained teachers who came. According to farmers, due to the low sale price of garlic sprouts this year, the cost of employing workers is much higher than the purchase price of garlic sprouts. But if they are not extracted in time, it will affect the production of garlic. At present, they were extremely anxious. Due to the lack of labor force in their family, there are still more than ten acres of garlic sprouts that has not been bolted. The teachers have comforted the farmers and actively studied the skills of extracting garlic sprouts. After several hours of hard work, several acres of garlic sprouts have been extracted. Farmers thanked the teachers for their help.      

The teachers have said that their work in the fields help them deeply understand the hardships of farmers. They felt very happy to do a favor for farmers. This activity not only solved the problem of garlic farmers, but also enabled teachers to have fresh and assured vegetables. In the future, the labor union of the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering will continue to go deep into the countryside to check the situation of the people, solve problems, and carry out more such activities to benefit the society!
