About the Program

The Chemistry PhD program is designed towards developing the ability to do creative scientific research. Accordingly, the single most important facet of the curriculum for an individual is his or her own research project. In keeping with the goal of fostering an atmosphere of scholarly, independent study, formal course requirements are minimal and vary among disciplines. Advisers tailor course requirements to best prepare the student for the chosen research field.

Study method and length of study

The study methods of master’s degree are full-time, and doctoral students are divided into full-time and part-time. The basic study period for master’s degree candidates is 2 or 3 years, and the basic study period for doctoral students is generally 4 years.

Eligibility

lApplicants for master’s degree programs must have attained a bachelor’s degree.

lApplicants for doctoral programs must have attained a master’s degree.

lApplicants must be in good health, and abide by the laws and regulations of Chinese Government, without any record of violation of laws and disciplines.

lStudents with bachelor’s degrees may apply for admission to PhD program in subjects of sciences or in a continuous program that involves postgraduate and doctoral studies.

Application Fee

(1) Application fee is 200 RMB, You may pay by bank cards with UnionPay logo, or pay online. Please follow the instruction at our application website If you want to make the payment online. We don’t accept traveler’s check or other payment methods.

(2) One Application without application fee will not be processed.

(3) Application fee is not refunded under any circumstance.

Examination

The college admission team will organize a preliminary examination (Politics, English, professional courses), the candidates who past the preliminary examination enter into the re-examination.

The college admissions team will organize a specialized admissions expert panel to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the professional level and language ability of candidates who participate in the re-examination round. Candidates participating in the second interview should be prepared to share with the admission expert panel relevant information, such as a self-introduction of their personal scientific research experience and results, understanding and views on the subject area of application, learning and research ideas, etc. According to the re-examination results and the results of an assessment of the candidate’s personal qualities, the admission expert group will comprehensively evaluate the candidates’ ranking, select the best candidates, and submit the preliminary admission list to the department’s admissions team.

Admission

After comprehensive review, the of Admission Office will decide on the final admission list based on the results of the second examination and inform applicants of the admission results.
